It's been over a decades since I found a book so compelling that I couldn't help finishing it the same day I started it.

Wow. Picked this up at a friend’s house, and could not put it down. “Fantasy” has never been a genre I’ve particularly chosen before, as I prefer existential writing. But this is just brilliant imagination on display. It was a pleasure to be immersed in this World.

I cried when I finished this book— because Piranesi is such an endearing narrator and a person of deep integrity. I just loved him! He filled me with such compassion.

The “twist” was a little predictable by the reveal, but it was still good and masterfully written. So succinct and beautiful.

It starts as "what the fuck am I reading" but by page 50 I was completely enthralled by the beauty of this book and the mystery of the House and finished it in one sitting.
