Good overall story, exactly as to be expected for a HoN book. I don't know what else to say except I feel my attention waning from the series. I felt most of this book was pretty predictable, not bad, but after waiting for ever for it kinda a let down. The next won't be out until fall of 2013, which I hope means that a HUGE story is waiting. I'm not talking page numbers, just interest. Overall a 4 star rating.

I feel as though these authors are able to make different things happen to these poor students. It
Definitely keeps the story interesting

I would have done 3 1/2 if I could have, I'm not sure about 4...I didn't like this one quite as much as the others. Heath being a part of Aurox just irritates my soul. Also, I think my obsession with Stark biases me because the whole time I was like "ZOEY ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU PLEASE I LOVE YOUUUUUUU." He is a fabulous character- sarcastic, funny, but caring enough to consider Heath one of his friends despite Heath having a deep relationship with Zoey while Stark is in love with her. He is self-sacrificing and 1000% there for her, and I feel he was like that even before becoming her guardian.

So after my super juvenile beginning to this review-

I loved getting a deeper look into Lenobia and I was definitely rooting for Travis. I'll definitely be reading Lenobia's Vow.
I like Shaylin putting Erik in his place a little, I can't stand him now. I do feel like Shaylin's role is slightly shallow---why do her and her True Sight exist? They already knew Neferet was allied with Darkness. Only Shaylin can see the colors she sees, she doesn't have the capability of showing others. So...what is the point of her, really?
I love Zoey's grandma very much and am glad she survived. I wish there was a person in reality that was as sweet, understanding, forgiving, wise, etc. as she is as a character.
I enjoyed the ending where it seemed like Neferet had the upper hand at first. It was interesting to get more of a glimpse into her too, and how Zoey's spell affected her. I look forward to reading Neferet's curse soon.

Really enjoyed the 10th book in this series, and learning that there are more to go!
Love going back to this series after having read another couple of books, always a nice break. This is a really easy series to get into, yes very young adult, and yessss another one of those vampire books, but I love it!
I have always been into these kinds of books, reading about a whole different universe, something that I could never relate to, it helps to escape from everything that is going on.
I am so excited to continue with this series and find out how it will end!

This series just needs to end. The story is getting a little corny... At the begining of the book, well into the middle, I couldn't get past the lack of personality of most of the characters and the cheesey dialogue. Aphrodite is probably my favorite character even though she can be nasty. She's the only one, really, that has a personality and on some level--even a twisted one--you can relate to her.
Zoey bores me and her and Stark's mushy love talk get's on my nerves. The way Zoey and her friends talk is extremely annoying. They all sound like nine year old kids in my head.
Another character I actaully liked was Shaylin. She talked normal for one and she was the most realistic in an unrealistic book.
I know there's another one after Hidden(and yes, I'll read it), but I hope it ends there.
Towards the end of the book, it started to get interesting and I actually couldn't put it down. Neferet's maybe death (I didn't really understand that part), left me wondering what they'll do in the next book. As long as Zoey doesn't start falling for Aurox becuase she know's Heath's in there, I think we'll be good.
Also, Erin...you're a hoe.

Character assassination of Erin coming out of nowhere, and not really for any particular reason. She was a little vain and a little shallow, but so was Shaunee.
The authors just wanted to get Erin out of the way so they could insert Shaylin into Zoey's circle.
There's also a weird amount of "advertising" the Cast's House of Night novellas, and it never feels natural.
I like the showdown between Grandma Redbird and Neferet, but I'm SURE there are some stereotypes about Cherokee women and spirituality here that aren't true.
