I wasn’t feeling this one. It was ok. I decided to read it to find out what happened to one of the Bennett kids. In one book everything was normal. In the next book one of the kids was in a lot of trouble. So I thought the in between book would shed some light on why. NOPE!!! Not a single mention of the issue. So I’m disappointed. Maybe my disappointment comes from the fact that I still don’t know how. Or maybe it comes from the fact that the story itself is kinda lame.

I like Michael Bennett and his wacky family of 10 adopted children, his priest grandfather, and his children's nanny, Mary, but this story makes him the luckiest man ever. A death made to look like a suicide has Michael investigating. The investigation takes him from NY to DC to PA. He uncovers a secret that the military doesn't want exposed.

I really enjoyed this book. Didn't realize it was a Michael Bennett 9.5 one, but that's the thing I love about James Patterson's novels: you can read them out of order and still know what's going on.

Patterson's books may read the same, just with different characters, but at the end of the day, if a book can make me get lost in its pages for awhile, then that's all that really matters to me, and this book served its purpose. I also really liked that it's a "book shot," meant to be read in hours (but leave it to me to prove them wrong, lol). Sometimes, I have so many books I want to read, something quick and fast pace is what's needed.

I'll definitely be looking out for more book shots.

My third Bookshot book. They always sound better than they end up being. But at least they're helping me reach by yearly goal right?!

Much better than the other Bookshots title I read. This one was a fast-paced, exciting murder mystery with lots of twists and turns. I'm now interested in reading more Michael Bennett mysteries.
