Childhood friends to lovers is my NUMBER one favorite trope.

Jude and Lila meet as kids and quickly develop a fun, banter friendship. They constatly tease one another and it's so adorable to see them as littles. It isn't until they're in High School that they realize they not only love each other, but are in love with each other. From their on out, they devote their lives to one another and no matter what, their love will preserver.

But soon their love will be put to the ultimate test. Will they be able to overcome the darkess?

One of my favorite things about this book (besides it ripping my heart out) is the fact that Jude has a thing for stars and astrology. He literally puts the glow stars on Lila's ceiling. He bought her a star. Like, I literally can't..

The title being When the Stars Fall is absolutely perfect because of this. And to further the stars thing, on a night when they are chillin on the roof, Lila sees a falling star (shooting star) and asks Jude 'What happens when the stars fall' and he replies with 'I will put them back in the sky for you.'

This play on stars will follow heavily throughout this book and I am obsessed!!

This is definitely a 6 star read for me and a book I will NEVER forget.

PS: grab your tissues, you will need them. I was a SOBBING mess.

I loved the way Emery told this story. The way that she presented Jude and Lila’s past and how they slowly fell in love was beautiful. It also didn’t drag on which I appreciated very much.

Now to Jude and Lila, I love how they always find there way back together, I mean who doesn’t love a hea? Their love was messy, young and then filled with so much trauma.

Even though I love that they always found their way back together, I don’t think he deserved her. Right in the beginning I knew when he was with other girls and she felt guilty for even kissing a boy, that they would be unhealthy. She’s better than be bc I would’ve left and never looked back after what he said to her on his bday.

Anyways, it’s a cute friends to lovers, second chance romance, that deals with grief (kind of) and PTSD.

I really enjoyed this book and I am only rating it a 4 because of one thing I just can’t get over.

I feel guilty admitting it but I just like my love stories less messy. I can take dating other while broken up, but having a baby with someone else? Eek! I just can’t. Knowing Brody’s story might be next I-well, talk about “entanglements”
