3.0

Level 2 reader about a girl who wants to dress up as her favorite idol for school when another person takes them instead. She works through her feelings and works to be ok with her friend being Frida Kuhlo while she chooses another favorite of hers instead. This book shares new ethnic idols with readers and gives them information on other cultures. The words seem to be a bit advanced for a level 2 but the text size and length are good.

This is a cute leveled reader that has a great SEL message about how to deal with communication, friendship, and frustration. It is part of the Level Two I Can Read! series, and follows Reina as her teacher introduces a wax museum project. She really wants to be Frida Kahlo, so she mentions it to her friend who loves art. When it comes time to chose figures for the assignment, the friend takes Frida Kahlo, which frustrates Reina--but with the help of her Abuela and a conversation with her friend, Reina solves the problem!
