A fitting round up of Kyoshi’s story, even if it is still just beginning!

I loved it; I loved how, now that I was immersed and invested in certain plots from the first book, I was able to watch them play out. An alternate title could be Avatar Kyoshi: The Tragedy of Yun. I wonder why they keep using “Avatar: the last Airbender” in the titles of these things, like theyre all the avatar, they should all have their own tags. It should be Avatar: Legend of Korra and Avatar: the last Airbender and Avatar: The Age of Kyoshi and whathaveyou. ANYWAY
How things ended up was so horrifying— I feel like I can picture Kyoshi with Rangi in her arms and Yun by her side so clearly. There was sad symmetry to everything like the first book started with the three of them, then everything changed. I wish Wong and Kirima were in there more than just the final showdown, but it makes sense that they’d be absent for the political subterfuge episode of My Life as Avatar Kyoshi :( And I really thought Soryu was cool, I thought he would be another character to sympathize with— the whole first act with Chaejin, Hwosa and all that fire nation intrigue served to show Kyoshi that sometimes there’s no glaringly right or absolutely justified path, and that justice looks different in different scenarios. I WHOOPED when Lao Ge showed up at the very end. I wonder if the next book will be immediately following this one since the Yun problem has been dealt with and all of the loose ends have been tied up. I hope this isn’t the last we see from FC Yee!
I was in love with the style of writing, the detail of the scenes and every gesture makes you feel like you’re reading one of the avatar comics. I don’t know whether to give this series a four or a five. I guess a 4.5, and I’m definitely going to keep my ear to the ground waiting for the next one.

This was like a TV show brought to life and I loved it. Kyoshi is awesome. I wish we got more time to develop her and finish the arc she was on. I feel like right as she learned things it was over. Plus I wanted Team Avatar and we only got half of that. This was good, but the first one was better.
