I loved this book. If there is any complaint, it’s just that the middle section is a little slow and the end love story wasn’t as built out as I was expecting, but honestly this book is about so much more than romantic love. It’s about family, freedom, and independence. It’s about the battle of being a woman. I think this book will stick with me for a very long time and I am grateful for that. Maybe just glance at content warnings before giving it a read however.

A great read. Allende's prose is beautiful and intriguing, and the characters seem to work their way into your heart quietly and firmly.
