I can't say I liked or even understood all the stories in this collection, but they are for a diverse audience so almost anyone can find something to enjoy. My three favorite stories in this collection are "As Time Goes By", "The Fiddler", and "The Seventh Year". I loved the commitment to to fidelity and purity in a world of pressure from peers and parents portrayed in "As Time Goes By." "The Fiddler" was one of the best fantasies I have ever read, taking a common theme and making it most uncommon with an injection of hope, choice, an unexpected kind of rebellion and overpowering faith. "The Seventh Year" explores time-honored fantasies and fear in a child's stuffed animals, touching on themes from Raggedy Ann, the Velveteen Rabbit, and the monsters under all of our beds and in the shadows of our sleep.
