Wiggin narrates this enjoyable little story of New England country in the early 20th century with affection and gentle humor. Also contains this amazing metaphor: "Nancy had been storing up fidelity and affection deep, deep in the hive of her heart all these years, and now the honey of her helpfulness stood ready to be gathered."

I enjoyed this sweet story. While there wasn't much in the way of excitement or action (besides cleaning the church), it was just right for a Christmas read. And I loved the ending.
