I read this for a reading challenge but would otherwise not recommend it. It starts with a naked adult man befriending a six year old girl and doesn’t improve from there.

Follows the romance between Henry and Clare. Henry sporadically and (sometimes) unwillingly time-travels to his past and future. This has been happening to him since he was a child, but as an adult he time travels to meet his future wife when she is a child. They form a relationship and begin their relationship.

It was a really interesting concept...somebody who time travels back and forth visiting his loved ones (and even himself). But the idea of him visiting his wife as a child and "molding" her into the person she becomes is a very weird. Additionally, the fact that Clare feels the need to save herself for basically her whole life when Henry visits her in the future before he dies. It's kind of creepy.
That being said, I was totally hooked and wanted to keep reading it.

Disappointed. This is the first time that I enjoyed the movie and tv show more than the book. The love that they had for each other, did not justify the pedophilia, the love did not justify how they treated the people that loved them, and the way other races were depicted seemed a little off for me.

Even a chimp knows time travelling has nothing to do with genetic disorder!
Beside its pseudo sci-fi time travelling theme, the book is nothing but a 2nd hand vulgar love story with a vomiting dose of sex, church, and obsession for making baby. A recipe for a soap opera.
I picked it up as it was shortlisted for Arthur C. Clarke award and also a person I followed gave it 5 stars. I was wrong, not following her anymore.

I really liked the back and forth in time and seeing the changes in Henry and Claire throughout their relationship
