Keep Her Safe is a story you should not read alone and at night, especially if you’re a single mother. Beware. You’ve been warned. This story will get your heart rate pumping and is every mothers worst nightmare.

Keep Her Safe had me hooked within the first two chapters, very gripping. You will not want to put it down! I could easily have devoured this brilliant, thrilling story in one sitting it certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat!

This story is easy to read, fast paced, written well and contains short chapters. Parts will have you holding your breath so don’t forget to breathe throughout! An amazing thriller I would highly recommend to you all.

A well deserved five stars from myself. This is the first story I have read by Richard and I seem to have found a new favourite author, I cannot wait to dive into his other stories. Keep Her Safe is released today and was in my top twenty reads of 2017. Very impressed. High expections from Richard now. A thriller that you NEED to read. Enjoy.

A story of a mother's love and what that a mother will do to save her child. An edge of your seat thriller that will have you second guessing yourself and what you would do in the same scenario. I also enjoyed that they didn't throw in a bunch of characters like most novels do to try to trick you on who is doing what ...ect this was straight forward and to the point and easy to read. I enjoyed this a lot.

Thanks NetGalley!!

Wow.  This book was intense right from the beginning.  There was no lead-in to the action-- the action started on page 1.  I read the first couple chapters right before going to bed one night, and I couldn't fall asleep for hours because the image of seeing someone crawl into my kids' bedroom windows was haunting.  I felt like the action dragged a little bit right before they left Maggie's house, but the story line quickly picked up again and created new tentacles that kept me guessing throughout the book.

If you love horror movies, you will LOVE this book.  I've never been a huge fan of Stephen King because his books aren't that scary.  This book would keep you up and make you question every creak and rustle you hear in your hours.  It also opens up a fantastic hypothetical question:  What would YOU do if your child was kidnapped and the only way you get them to return safely to you was to kill someone else?  Overall, it was a thrilling, fast read.  I'm taking away a star just because I personally don't like descriptive, excessive gore.  4 / 5 stars.

Thank you to the author, Richard Parker, the publisher, and NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in advance in exchange for my honest review.

When Maggie wakes up in the middle of the night to find an intruder in her home, she knows exactly why they’re there. The stranger in her house has until dawn to carry out orders from an unknown person to keep her child safe. But Maggie isn’t just going to roll over and let them get away with it.

There is no slow build-up here. From the first page, you’re thrown right into the action. Like Maggie and Holly, you barely get a minute to wrap your head around what’s happening. The pace of this cat and mouse game is absolutely relentless as Maggie races against the clock to break an absolutely horrible cycle of events.

Richard Parker has this uncanny ability and insanely evil brain that manages to take something rather simple and turn it completely onto its head. The whole concept is quite thought-provoking. How far would you go to keep your child safe? You can’t help but feel for these two women and the emotional rollercoaster ride they’re on. But what stood out for me the most, is how a story that basically only involves two characters could be so intensely gripping.

Keep Her Safe has a complicated plot that doesn’t reveal all its secrets until the end. Who is this wicked person who’s putting these mothers in these heartbreaking situations? And why? I had no idea how this was all going to turn out. Now I must admit, that the first half of the book had me utterly hooked as the stand-off between the characters was incredibly compelling. But I found the latter part a bit less thrilling. There’s a fair bit of running around and I couldn’t quite see where things were heading or why. Admittedly, I was one of those annoying kids who was always asking “Why? But why?” and I don’t particularly feel like I got all the answers I was looking for.

Still, this is quite the page-turner and a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining read with a satisfying conclusion and I look forward to more from Richard Parker.

This book was such a page turner! Had me gripped from the first chapter.

How far would you go to protect your child? 2 single mothers spend a evening together and learn just what they will do for their children.

I've become a fan of Richard Parker's intense, action-packed and fast-paced thrillers ever since I read Be My Killer (now called Follow You) last year, so you can imagine I was over the moon when I found out there was going to be a new thriller coming out this January. Keep Her Safe went to my list of most-anticipated releases as soon as the cover was first revealed, and I have been looking forward to read it ever since. And there is one thing for sure: Keep Her Safe doesn't disappoint. Basically it was one crazy, intense and blood coiling rollercoaster ride that didn't let me go until the very end... What a way to start 2018 with a bang! Both the prose and the suspense around the situation the main character finds herself in from the start managed to grab me straight away. This thriller simply reads like a train! You won't find one boring minute as plot twist after plot twist gets thrown at you and the intense feeling of danger never leaves. The psychological aspect of this novel is an interesting as well, as it makes you wonder how far mothers do go to protect their children... A trigger warning for those who are sensitive to violent and gruesome scenes, because Keep Her Safe can get pretty extreme at points. But I personally loved every single minute of the ride and I can highly recommend it to anyone who likes their thrillers action-packed, gripping, suspenseful and intense. Also, I might have squeeled when I saw my name mentioned in the Acknowledgements. Thank you! <3

I already had a feeling this was going to be good, but I honestly couldn't have wished for a better book to start the reading year with. Keep Her Safe was one heck of a thriller with so many intense moments I found it impossible to stop reading. I practically devoured this story and its many plot twists and the final part of Keep Her Safe definitely had some jaw droppingly fierce moments. A trigger warning for those if extreme and violent scenes aren't your thing! Otherwise, I can highly recommend this thriller.

Very very unusual read. Read over one day, you want to find out what this is about, who did what to whom and the big question why? Slightly unbelievable plot in regard to an injury received by one of the characters which in my mind would have been much more debilitating (hence the four and not five stars) but that aside a good read.

This time last year I hadn't read any of Richard Parker's books. Keep Her Safe is the third of his titles I've read since June which should give you an idea of how much I love his books. Both Follow You and Hide and Seek made it onto my list of top reads of 2017 so I had high expectations for his latest title.
I wasn't disappointed - Keep Her Safe is a read in one sitting because you can't put it down and your family don't really need to eat anyway sort of book. From the chilling opening chapter when Maggie wakes to find a stranger in her home through to the dark and terrifying conclusion, this breathtaking rollercoaster of a read should probably come with the sort of health warning you see at theme parks - those with heart conditions and of nervous disposition should proceed with caution! Richard Parker's great skill is in taking what is a recognisable, even universal fear - in this case something terrible happening to your child - and twisting it to make it even more frightening that you ever imagined.
This is actually a very difficult review to write; not because I don't have anything positive to say about the book - on the contrary, it is a superb read - but because it has a plot that deserves to be kept a secret for each new reader to discover for themselves.
Told in the third person, the focus of the chapters alternates between Maggie and Holly. This means the action unfolds from different perspectives, which serves to either enlighten or further puzzle readers. They are both complex women whose decision making is not always rational and yet often understandable, caught up in a depraved game they are forced to keep playing until the very end and driven to extreme measures by a twisted individual who appears to hold all the power. They are not always likeable but their resoluteness in the face of what appears to be a hopeless situation is absolutely compelling. As they learn the horrific truth of what motivates the killer the tension is almost unbearable.
Keep Her Safe is an intricately plotted, intelligent and disquieting thriller that takes its readers into the grimmer echelons of society as it explores just what happens to people faced with a seemingly impossible choice - just what are they capable of? Richly atmospheric, with the cold and snow playing a vital part in the story, I loved every minute of this book; it's fast paced, exciting and dark -just what I've come to expect from a Richard Parker novel. Highly recommended.

I ended up really enjoying this book, although it took me a bit to get into. Despite the fact that this should have been action from minute one, it seemed to me to drag a bit. The first few chapters start off with a bang but then the story stagnated, although this slight lull was great for building the story. By the time the two women were partnering up, I didn't want to put the book down. The last half was action-packed and will keep you drawn in to the story. If you're one that's offended by language or violence, steer clear. The language is throughout although it's sprinkled throughout instead of heavily featured. The biggest one here is violence with a particularly gruesome scene. If you can handle it though, this is a good thriller, just hang in through those lulls and you will be rewarded with plenty of action and suspense.

I would like to thank the publisher, author, and Netgalley for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.
