The writing is very uneven. In some places it is quite good. In others, not so much. The story was interesting enough for me to finish the book.

I hate that dark fantasy novels are so terrible towards women. The main character repeatedly thinks of little else (when meeting someone of the female persuasion) but lust, but then calls them whores.
