I think I expected more for this family saga, generally being a fan of books that follow families throughout time. It just fell a bit short, and I also thought that the actual Bournville world would be more present. That being said, the points in time that Coe chooses to write his book around are interesting, and not necessarily huge events in the world but very important for the UK. Would still read more of Coe’s books!
