4.5 stars. Every amazing thing you've heard about this book is absolutely true. Madeline Miller is such a fantastic writer, and this story reads like epic love poetry. Her writing is beautiful - there's no other way to say that.

The writing is amazing and you can really notice how much Miller knows about her source material, the references to ancient myths are so subtle but perfect. The story is beautiful and even though you know how it’s gonna end, it still makes you feel ... everything.

I knew I wasn’t emotionally ready to read this and yet I did it anyway. the sheer grace, intimacy and breathtaking honesty of the this love story and its writing had me reeling and I’m still not done recovering!! I’m onto you and your brilliance now, Miller, and I’ll be picking this up again as a hot sad girl summer beach read ☀️

so good !! miller slays evey. time, I loved circe and I love this one too. finished just in time for pride month too !
