This is my first time reading a James Comey book.

A red canoe sits abandoned on Seymour Rock, right where the Saugatuck River meets Long Island Sound. The elegantly dressed corpse of a woman lies inside...

Nora Carleton left New York to become lead counsel at Saugatuck Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, where her life has become slower, more predictable. That is until her colleague and friend, Helen, is brutally murdered – and she becomes the prime suspect.

In the months leading up to Helen's death, she and Nora were investigating someone within the company who was using insider information to undercut Saugatuck's investments. Nora knows this is somehow linked to Helen's murder – if only she can see how.

Calling in old colleagues from the US Attorney's office, Mafia investigator Benny Dugan and attorney Carmen Garcia, Nora must find evidence to prove her innocence – or risk being put behind bars herself...

I enjoyed this book but found that I could guess the culprit pretty early on. Despite this the writing style and pacing are good which makes this an easy read and I did find I didn't want to put down the book.

The plot is interesting and the characters are unique although not very likeable.

It's a good, easy to read murder mystery and if you want more of a relaxing mystery rather than one full of suspense and tense moments, this is the book for you

James Comey’s most recent novel, Westport, is a binge worthy crime thriller. I switched back and forth between the e-book and audiobook so I finished this book in less than 24 hours!

The main character, Nora Carleton, is the type of female protagonist that I love - smart, strong, and not afraid to voice her opinions. She is lead council at the world’s largest hedge fund when a coworker is murdered. She is set up to become the police’s main suspect so she must figure out who the real killer is!

If you read Central Park West, some characters will be familiar, however either book can be read as a standalone novel. I really enjoyed both books and this seals Comey as a must read author for me.

Thank you @highbridgeaudio and @mysteriouspress for allowing me to read and listen to this book/audiobook ahead of publication in exchange for my honest review.
