I had read this many years ago in paperback - it was a good re-read

This book is great for creating the time to think about the slowness topic. That being said it’s pretty much fun facts about slowing down so I dont feel like I learned a lot of new information.

a wonderful introduction and exploration of being slow, as explored through categories like work, cities, sex, music, and food. I think of this more of a primer than something that dives deeper into a specific category. Well written.

This was decent. Some books about slowing down in life talk more about principles. This one had lots of specific examples, but they were from 20 years ago and were outdated.

Short review: This is a bit repetitive, but it is sharing a good message that slow is not bad and often slow is better than fast. Many of the antidotes were interesting and well written, but often the point was so similar to the previous that it did not add much to the book. Overall it would make a very good book if it were 100 pages shorter.

Seemed sort of preachy although I don't think that I am the 'target audience' for this book.

Overall I'm impressed. Much of it resonated with my current philosophy on life, especially the chapter on raising a child to enjoy life and not be stressed.
