It's hard to rate this the mood for this one. This volume covers the end of the Meta Liberation Army arc and the start of the Endeavor Work Study arc. MLA arc contains the darkest moments so far, and this particular volume opens on Shigaraki
(then called Tenko Shimura)
first discovering his powers at the age of 5, to devestating results. The chapters focused on the Endeavor Work Study arc, meanwhile, open with Shoto and Bakugo flubbing an interview in ways that made me literally laugh out loud.

Not all of the League Members are given equal spotlight in this arc. Mr. Compress (who I thought was interesting when he first appeared at the Training Camp Attack) is barely utilized and is starting to become underwhelming compared to his peers. As of yet, there doesn't seem to be much of a point in him surviving Overhaul's attack several volumes ago. Also, I feel like the return of Twice's personality shifts undermines some of his character growth in the previous volume.

The League get some significant boosts in strength after defeating the MLA, but it feels like they're mostly immature weirdos who stumbled into a huge amount of power. I know the main protagonist is a first year high schooler so immature villains make sense to some degree. However, the League is being presented as a society ending threat, and their personalities are underwhelming.

I'm much more enthusiastic about the Endeavor Work Study Arc. The MLA stuff was extremely dark, and it's refreshing to get the high schoolers back in focus and a lighter tone. Kohei Horikoshi is showing that there is a threat on the horizon, but with the students he's able to balance it with some good gags and cute moments that weren't present with the League (eventhough there are some unique personalities in there) chapters.
