What another super cute read from Ali! I loved reading about Elsie, and her health and mental struggles and the journey she took to overcome some of her people pleasing habits (which I can totally relate to). And of course, as a woman in STEM, I loved the representation in this book. The relationship between Jack and Elsie was super cute, I loved the way he so wanted to help take care of her, but also let her come to him with what she needed in her own time. I do wish there was just a bit more back story than just the three meetings they had prior to the story really picking up. I feel like I would have been just a bit more invested in the two of them. But overall, I really enjoyed reading this one!

I’ve never felt such a strong urge to document how much I loved a book until today. You often read about people pleasers, talk about them, or even identify as one (me). Ali Hazelwood tapped into the people pleaser personality/persona and portrayed such a relatable main character. I’ve never felt so exposed yet safe and hopeful for my own personal growth and future. Finishing this book felt like walking out of a really good therapy session that will linger with you for a long time!
