This book is a sort of permaculture how-to for someone interested in raising a small flock of chickens and turkeys (mostly geared toward profit). I have a very small backyard and 6 chickens is just about the right number for me, so a lot of the information didn't apply to my specific situation, but I did learn some interesting tidbits and I decided to read the authors' other book, City Chickens, in hopes that there's more tailored information about smaller backyard flocks. The cover of this book is one of the dorkiest I've ever seen.

Honestly, I have no idea why I can't stop reading chicken books. I've kept chickens for a couple years. I've read a lot of books already. I feel pretty confident that we're doing right by our hens. But I can't stop.

I really wanted to like Day Range Poultry, but was disappointed. Not enough information and what was there was very mainstream and not applicable to the small scale.
