A picture of this book is next to the definition of "lighthearted" in a dictionary somewhere. There's hardly any angst or drama and there's no stakes whatsoever. Listening to this is like floating meanderingly down a calm river on a perfect day.  The narrator has actual emotion and expression in their voice which I find is very rare and their voice is just so smooth. Overall this book is so easy to listen to. Its the perfect i-need-a-breather book if you're mid heavy plot/drama series or between books.

I do have 2 downsides though.  One of them was that I am not emotionally invested in this relationship beyond "its sweet".  I feel a bit like I'm watching an acquaintance or a friend of a friend have a relationship- its fun to watch but I'm not in it.  The other thing is that the premise of this book is so contrived that I find it very hard care which made it very hard for me at the end to feel like there was any emotional payoff. The situation feels very true rom com so if you like those, you'll love this (its also a "theres only one bed" trope). With that, the person who forced them into the situation was not reprimanded or otherwise forced to acknowledge their mistakes even though the mcs clearly discuss their feelings about the person being wrong.  I wish I would have gotten that scene as my emotional pay off.
