I'm having a hard time sorting out my feelings about this book. I really do like Arabella as a person, even though I thought she was pretty dumb just walking out to do what a stranger said.  I did not like Eli in any way, shape, or form!!! His reason for hating Arabella is dumb at best. There is no reason for him to have acted the way he did! It made me so angry and annoyed. And the crap he pulled in the end? Ugh!!!! So annoying. Arabella deserves a whole lot better from her mother, her supposed friends, and her new family!! So yes, confusion is a big part of my reason for rating this as I did. I may change my mind later.

This was so incredibly satisfying. It was a little difficult to get into at first, but around 1/3, I was obsessed. I didn't know if I would enjoy a high-school bully romance. The FMC and MMC are 18, but I didn't know if it would make me feel old reading it. But it didn't, and it was so well written. Convincing, agonizing, and so addictive. Eli is a dirt bag. But he grows on you. And the spice was perfect. Not too much, but soooo good. The pace was perfect.

All I kept saying throughout the story is "wtf?" and "why?? Nooo"

I really loved it though. It kept me entertained. This is obviously no dark romance like the others. It's disturbing as well. Which I enjoy. Getting into the second one as I write this. So far, so good!

He falls hard and she breaks harder

All he wants is revenge for something she didn't do. All she wants is her old life.

They become something else. Something more...and yet she doesn't know it. Everything would have been ok. It might have worked out. Maybe it would have been fine but it isn't. Everything is a mess. It's a shattered vase. A crime scene splattered with her dignity, missing her trust. She no longer has the patched up life she thought she did and for that...he will pay. Dearly.

I am so devastated for both of them. I am definitely going to need to know what happens next!

I usually don’t read high school bully romance but I had to read this because I absolutely love L. Ann and I will read anything she writes. I love Arabella and Eli. I didn’t like Eli at the beginning but I was rooting for him by the end. Bella is a mess, I just want to wrap her in a hug and tell her everything will be ok. That ending had me screaming WTF and I need the second book now.
