Happy Summerween!

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel going into this. It was an interesting concept that intrigued me though.

I used to work retail and while a lot of people didn't like being in stores after hours with the lights dimmed, I loved it. It was actually my favorite time to be there sometimes.

This book was pretty cheesy to me, especially the beginning, but I ended up really enjoying the ride. And even though I think it was cheesy, there were parts that actually creeped me out too!

Definitely a good quick read. :)

Finished just in time for Halloween! I had been wanting to read this forever, like literally months I had this in my cart on multiple websites ready to buy. I thought this would one of my new favorite books! But, I found myself enjoying "The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires" much more than this. It's weird to READ about possession or ghostly apparitions. Even with the details provided, it was hard to picture what those things looked like. That's the only big flaw there was for me though.

I really enjoyed all of the characters and Amy's arc in the story. Her character was very relatable. She's sarcastic, bitter, and can't pay her rent. Therefore, I thought she was cool and a good protagonist to follow. The novelty of the book was cool too. So cool in fact that when I picked this up at Barnes and Noble, they couldn't find it anywhere until they looked at the "Home Improvement" section of the store because it looks so much like an IKEA furniture catalog.
I enjoyed this book a lot, but I think I will like it more if he ever writes a second. The ending made me want to know what happens next! Everything about the ending pointed to a sequel but I haven't heard any plans Grady Hendrix has on writing it. I'm manifesting.

I can't wait to read another one of his books! I'm really enjoying his work so far.

3.5 rounded up. Not my favorite Hendrix story but an easy an enjoyable beach read. A lot of fun pictures and maps add to the read would recommend it as a hard copy as opposed to audiobook.

I survive and here, full 5 orsks, I mean stars.

I love this book because it is so much more than horror.
there are pictures that help me a lot to enjoy the experience, and as you can see and read the synopsis it resembles Ikea, so you will me Ikea-liked product pictures in here. it's refreshingly creepy. I'm lost with the pronouncement but my parents still think I'm cool as ice, so.
there are the characters, people, do they are something. I favour Amy, Ruth Anne, and Basil. there are some parts that are seriously relatable for me especially about Amy and Basil; the helplessness of life and working, the passion of doing something you enjoy, gak! I just realized that a horror book can make me feel more than being creeped. Amy and Basil make me learn more about things. thank you, Mr. Hendrix for delivering such characters.there's also Matt, Trinity, and Carl, and yeah, Josiah Worth. but Trinity can be dumped with her Ghost Hunting alone so that I would never hear her annoying yaps again. half sorry for you, baby.
all in all, this book comes with SUPER RECOMMENDED. whether you are a fan of horror or not, just try.
if a braveless bone like me can survive the Orsk, you can.
