This is a low 3 Star or upper 2 Star for me. Most of this didn't feel unique, rather showcasing what other horror movies have done (which feels like that is the point). But even then I would have liked a little more originality as a lot of what happened feels like I've seen/experienced it before. Also some of the dialogue and writing felt clunky. 

Over all if you want a book that is a campy horror movie this is it, I had a decent time reading it.

This book had me ravenous. I couldn't wait to read the next part as I finished each chapter. The scares were well-written and often had me physically recoiling. I even had to put it down for a good ol' "nope" at one point. I might have to re-read this for my October scares.

I found the book good overall. It felt a little dragging in the secon third but really picked up and became wild in the last third.

I’m not a huge horror fan but this was a fun introduction to the genre. Hendrix has written a lovely mix of horror and comedy that feels accessible to a newbie with fun characters and an interesting and engaging plot.
