Almost a DNF for me...
I was looking forward to this! Yet, sadly, it fell quite flat. I found myself bored. Unlike the first, where I couldn't seem to put the book down!
So much happened! Yet at the same time, nothing really happened.
Baz and Simon were closer when they were enemies!
Overall, the story seemed... pointless? We don't see much character development, no developments in Baz & Simon's relationship, and no major progression in the plot.
This book is essentially just filler. Bad filler.
I hope to see the old Baz, Simon and Penny in #3!! I love them so dearly, nothing will change that!

I have to say that I was very impressed with this book.
After the events of Carry On it was nice to see the characters again after those events and how they are dealing with it. It isn't something you usually see in books and it was nice to explore. We get to see how Simon and Baz's relationship has developed and how Simon is dealing with life.
I also liked that they came to America and were doing a cross-country trip and that, as time went on, they came to realize things about themselves.
It was different from Carry On, but in a good way and I really enjoyed it.

I really like Baz and Penny's relationship in this one, and some of Baz's moments in the second half. Simon is really in my brain this time around and I'm not sure why, but I guess it's chill.
