This review is for the whole series. Proceed with caution.

Um how did this rip out my heart and stomp on it in three volumes? Very impressive. Anyway, QQ Sweeper is a stinkin cute romance with a healthy dose of mystery and a dash of fantasy. It’s a great “prequel” of sorts to the main story (which is Queen’s Quality) in which we will learn much more about this word. If you don’t like reading series without solid endings, this isn’t for you. A lot of questions are left unanswered, the romance technically doesn’t go anywhere, and it lacks a lot for an ending. But it’s a fantastic set up.

Overall, super cute, very dark at times, but a great set up to an intriguing plot.

Cleaning out people's minds from the dark thoughts? Yes! Wish there were real people doing that... Even though they are high schoolers it doesn't put a lot of time there in the beginning book so the plot line flows fairly quickly.

Going into this, I was a little worried it would be really similar to Dengeki Daisy, given the description. But I’m surprised to say that, even with the similarities, it’s quite different. And even more fun than I expected.

Fumi has just transferred to a new school, after being thrown out all on her own. And somehow she stumbles upon the supernatural cleaning service that Kyutaro and the headmaster run.

Fumi is determined to find a rich prince charming, much like Cinderella. Even with that, though, she doesn’t intend to get in the way of true love, much like a potential suitor is already experiencing, and like what she thinks Kyutaro is stuck on. As soon as she sees that, she moves right along to a new possibility. I like how honest and kind this makes her, and I also like how trusting and close she grows to Kyutaro so quickly, even while not thinking of him as a romantic interest.

The plot seems to be growing thicker at the end of the volume, and I’m excited for more. I like the world she’s stumbled upon, what Kyutaro does and how determined she is to learn and help. The supernatural element is interesting, something I haven’t seen before in this way. I like that.

I do think that Motomi has gotten better, too. Her characterizing is better, and the humor is used in a more thoughtful way, but still exaggerated like in her other series. But there was also a lot of really thoughtful moments and clear scenes. I’m impressed.

This volume was more fun than I expected, and I can’t wait for the next one.

I LOVED this manga!

QQ Sweeper is unlike the typical Shojo mangas I read and it was incredibly refreshing. It follows Kyutaro Horikita who is an expert “cleaner” who cleans houses as well as the inside of people’s heads. Pretty cool, eh? Fumi Nishioka is a transfer student new to the area who doesn’t have any living family or guardians which strikes the Principal (Koichi) as odd but who gains employment as their housekeeper and apprentice sweeper.

The story was captvating and I found myself wanting the volume to be three times the size!! The artwork is stunning - the expressions and attention to detail are sublime. Plus, I’ve been wanting to check out Motomi’s other work, Dengeki Daisy, for a while now.

I was really impressed by this opening volume and will definitely be continuing on with this creepy yet intriguing story. Highly recommended for those who want a unique Shojo read.
