I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I knew it would be a retelling of the classic Beauty and the Beast, but was not expecting the mashing together of vampires, werewolves, magic, spirits and the all-around suspense it held. Once about 1/3 of the way into the story, I couldn’t put the book down and read through the night and into the early morning. This is a story I will read again.
I loved the characters and think their development was done quite well. The clean content was very much appreciated.
I am look forward to reading the next in this Steampunk series!

This book was okay for me. Felt like a cross between Beauty and the Beast and Twilight. Not sure it has much appeal to the general public though.

I only read it because it is our book club book next month. It was a slow start for me. I have never read anything steampunk before and it was distracting at first. I didn't understand it. However, I got in to the rhythm and feel of the story and quite enjoyed it in the end. I do like a good mystery.

My main gripe with this book was the unrealistic portrayal of the male lead and most of the side characters. Many were rather flat and when efforts were taken to give them greater depth, the progression didn’t feel natural.

I’d still probably re-read it though
