"Já teve vontade de ver os peitos da Lucy?"

Quem me conhece sabe que eu amo uma boa história mitológica, então quando eu fiquei sabendo da existência de DEUSES AMERICANOS eu já estava completamente entregue.
Eu adorei a maneira como Neil Gaiman vai contando a história do Shadow e do nada muda para uma história aparentemente aleatória, mas que, de uma maneira ou outra, acaba fazendo sentido no final das contas.

Pro pessoal que tem preguiça de ler um livrão desses, pode se jogar sem culpa no seriado. é bem diferente, mas bem semelhante ao livro. o tio recomenda.

In 2003 a friend recommended this book to me and I started it; but for whatever reason, I couldn't get into it. I might have been expecting something else, or I might have been in the wrong mood for it. When I heard that it was getting turned into a t.v. series, and when that t.v. series was getting some positive buzz, I decided to give it another show. I'm glad I did.

Gaiman presents a big story, but he tells it in an intimate, quiet sort of way, and that's perfect for his protagonist's personality and journey. Shadow is appealing. He faces a lot and takes it all with a kind of stoicism that I really liked. The cast of characters surrounding him is wide, fascinating, and Gaiman has them walk a cool line between mythology and the reality of the world he's created.

I'll absolutely read Anansi Boys and any other stories from this world, and I'll give the t.v. series a shot, though I now have very high expectations.
