This guidebook was purchased at the visitor's center at the conclusion of an amazing tour of the sites, given by the author himself. Yes, he signed it very gratefully.

A detailed illustrated guide to the history and legends surrounding Rathcroghan, with special emphasis on the epic of Táin Bó Cúailnge, the Cattle Raid of Cooley. Gods, goddesses, heroes, battles, duels, murderous bulls, the tale has it all. The author connects what could be mistaken for just another mound in rural Ireland and its surrounding sites with deep history.

Read the book, yes. But go to the site itself as well. Stand outside in the rain and wind and feel connected to stories that are truly ancient, just for a little while.
