Great second book! I think I liked it almost more than the first one. Definitely has character building, you learn more about the anomalies with the reds/silvers. There are unexpected twists and turns as well. Good YA book.

I found this to be such a slog to get through.

thank my colors this books was as a ride of emotions once again. i wont lie though, i remembered too much everything that happened so i was never surprised nor shocked as the first time.
But i swear that reading these characters gives me an enormous amount of happiness that i cannot put onto words. it feels like family, like home.

I don't know if I'm just losing interest in the Young Adult genre, but I could not wait for this book to end. I'm starting to equate Mare with Katness where I spend the whole book hoping she gets killed off. I will not be picking up any more in this series.

MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD!!!

I still enjoyed the book but, like always, i prefer the first book also, Victoria deciding to kill Shade off is just unacceptable, she couldve at least kept him around until the 3rd. Also, HATED the love triangle in this book, once again. It made me REALLY dislike Kilorn. About halfway through i got very uninterested, i still finished it obviously and im still going to finish the series of course but It's only a 3 star for me

I absolutely loved Mare in the first book but in this book I couldn't stand her at all.
The action with Camoren wtf Mare ? I also thought she took the whole "I can't trust anyone" thing a bit too seriously. Sure, she was betrayed pretty badly by Maven, but in relation to that she hadn't even known him for a year. Then to not trust her family and Kilion anymore I think is over the top, especially since they've known each other (almost) their whole lives. I also thought it was a shame that the things Cameron, Farley an Cal said to her were completly denied by her although I think they are very accurate.
But then again, if I had to lead a resistance movement and would be tracked by Maven at 17, I probably wouldn't be perfect eighter. And the end of the book convinced me, but because I didn’t enjoy the rest, I gave 2.75 stars.
