Holy fuck, did I ever love these characters; both of them unique, a little damaged, and unapologetically male. Then there’s the sci-fi/cyberpunky setting with great tech which provides not just a cool backdrop but is integral to the external plot pushing these two together. And let’s not forget the writing style, which is full of short, impactful sentences, lending a sense of immediacy to the action. It’s a novella, but the 109 pages still managed to deliver a complete story that left me very squealy-happy.

While browsing the many Gay genre lists on Goodreads, I came across this title and took a shot (for less than $3, I figured if it sucked then I wouldn't have broken the bank). 2 days later and I find myself wanting more.

Break and Enter is a M/M Cyberpunk novella that's fast-paced, exciting and plenty sexy. The bedroom scenes take a backseat to the real action (a corporate cyber conspiracy), which is just how I like my dirty, dirty gay books. Sex is great, but if the story is bad then who cares when, where and how long they bangulated?

Granted, there are plenty of holes in the plot (He hid the microchip where?! When the hell did that happen?!?!?!), but I'm willing to look past it; I enjoyed the book that much.

If you're a M/M romance fan then you'll love it. I'm not, so the fact that I'm recommending this means a lot. Take it to the bank, bitches.

I liked the high tech world and the tone of the book. Very suspenseful! I also liked the relationship between Bear and Cyke. I would love to see more of them!

I really enjoyed this shorter story about an ex-special forces soldier now working private security named Cyke and his love interest Bear an EMS worker that helps him throughout the story. The more interesting parts were the "cyborg-ish" aspects of it. Would definitely recommend for those looking for a good Sci-fi M/M story.

It took a little while to get used to all the unfamiliar tech speak, but once I got used to it, it was so easy to get swept up in the action. Much like the characters (or Cyke, more specifically), the story is always moving, going on to the next bit of page-turning, anxiety inducing suspense.

I very much enjoyed the story of Cyke and Bear, and hope for more. It says Red Cell #1, so that seems to imply another book. Right? Hopefully? Pretty please?

A fast-paced, imaginative and heated story of Cyke, an ex-military man with cybernetic additions, whose job as a white-hat hacker goes bad when he turns out to be being used rather than legitimately employed. When he's found passed out and injured - twice - a connection is formed between his rescuer, Bear, a paramedic with a tech-fascination, and the stubborn elusive rescuee. Bear is fascinated and protective from the start. (Almost too fast - my biggest obstacle to becoming immersed in this story, because I couldn't see his reason up front to protect and believe Cyke to the degree he does.) Once these guys come together, though, there is engaging banter, hot sex, and swiftly-moving action. Cyke in particular is a fascinating character in both his backstory and his attitude. Well worth reading, if you like a little Sci-Fi tech in what is otherwise a hacking-and-conspiracy caper.

This book just didn't click with me. I didn't really like the writing style, and the overload of techno-speak was a bit too confusing in the beginning. The story lacked character development - I don't feel like I know the characters any better after finishing the book than I did when they were first introduced. Disappointing considering I really enjoyed almost everything else I've read by each of these authors.

I started the book and... *blink blink*... I finished the book. Where did the time go, I have no idea! It gripped me like a tidal wave and didn't let go until the very last page. Actually it kept me moving even beyond - to the "About Authors" section and excerpts, where I finally slowed down - LOL
I will have to read it again sometime, at a slower pace, to thoroughly enjoy all the details =)

Readable cyberpunk novella, though it doesn't tread particularly new or twisty ground. Not recommended for those who are sensitive to torture scenes because it seems like one of the characters spends most of the book in a great deal of pain. Also, there is a romantic/sexual aspect to the book but it definitely takes second seat to the sf plot; I wouldn't call it a romance.

Nicely done.

Sexy as hell, and briskly paced. A fun read that gave me four and a half boners.

More, please.

No, seriously—more.
