Saw a tweet, bought the book for cheap and was very pleasantly surprised at how freaking fun and adventurous it was. I stayed up til 1am to finish. And it was worth the lost sleep. Definitely going to continue on with the series.

I really liked it and thought it had some genuinely funny moments, but I found a lot of it hard to follow, probably because of the sheer volume of the characters and the constant perspective shifting. Still, it's a good romp and the characters have great personality, so I plan on reading the second installment.

I sort of feel like The Palace Job is the weird love child of Ocean's 11 and WoW.
I enjoyed the humor in the book a lot and found myself having to silence my laughter at times. I enjoyed reading about all of the characters and was entertained throughout the entire book. There was a nice amount of twists and turns that kept it interesting, and I didn't ever feel bored with it. In the beginning, however, I felt lost like I was missing details of the world it's self to get immersed in the story. Eventually, the details come out through the story, but for a decent part, I felt like maybe I had started in the middle of a series or spin-off series.

I really wanted to like this book but am giving up. It felt all over the place and convoluted. It’s trying to do too much too quickly so I didn’t care about any of the characters. DNF 18%

Loved the audiobook. Great humor and action. Keeping straight the sheer number of characters was difficult at first, but they all add an interesting dynamic to the group.

A fun magical heist novel that leaned a bit too heavily on a few of the gimmicks and tried to be too many things at once.
It was a fun listen and I will probably follow up.
