I think this is a contemporary drama? Idk. Cute and funny and lighthearted. Quite captivating. Dragged a bit — could have been shorter. Felt like a Marian Keyes book even though I doubt I’ve ever read one. Also, I felt too many times like “oh I’m reading a book”. There’s a scene where I expected violence (thriller reader in me I guess) and it just… dissolved? Mmmh. Likeable characters though.

The book touches on a romance and I thought the author before about romance fraud in a sensitive and light-humoured manner.

This was an enjoyable read. The story was funny and the characters were interesting. I wish Ant had had more of a comeuppance at the end and Deirdre got off Scott free. I will read more by this author.
