Didn’t particularly care about this but I want to read more deep sea horror.

I'm not really sure how to summarise this book, it seems too simple to say Lovecraftian but how can I not when it centers around an other worldly creature that lives In the sea.

At times the story is incredibly disjointed and time skips occur randomly without much definition but when it's good it's really good so 3 stars it is, also if I could shapeshift I'd spend most of my time as a cat aswell.

A strange and lyrical historic/supernatural novel, like nothing I have read before. We follow George, a man who survives the shipwreck of the Admella off the south coast of Australia in the 1800s - with the help of the young and mysterious Bridget Ledwith, who becomes entangled in George’s future in the most bizarre way...

‘From the Wreck’ is beautifully written and enchanting; capturing the feel of old myths and legends that have been passed on for centuries. The characters are wonderful, particularly Beatrice and George’s son Henry - who has an interesting journey and becomes the focus of the story alongside his younger brother Georgie.

I picked this book up in Australia at the end of last year, and am excited for the release of the UK edition in April!

This book was a pure pleasure to read, interesting and a real page turner. The writing is excellent and you don’t want to put the book down, it’s a real ‘just one more chapter’ book. A fictionalisation of a true story it’s part fantasy part adventure part history and all entertaining
