I usually find it hard to enjoy novellas, but this one was good. It didn’t try to fit an entire novel into 140 pages. It was definitely insta-love, but that’s what you sign up for when you read fated mates.

I just love Talia Hibbert. This was totally out of my wheelhouse but was still such a fun read!

I love a book that doesn't take itself too seriously. They're so much fun to read.

I loved how utterly besotted Luke was with Chastity. She literally tries to kill him (since she's from a werewolf hunting family and he's a werewolf, the old-school slavering beast kind) and he more or less just stares at her with heart eyes. He loves the fact that she's not soft and sweet, but actually capable of killing him. Chastity, who's been taught that all werewolves are evil and need to be hunted down and killed, is understandably a bit confused when Luke turns out to be a really sweet, funny guy who respects her boundaries.

This was both hilarious and adorable. And the depiction of consent was just impeccably done. Talia Hibbert ought to do a masterclass on it.

This is delightful. Truly just pure delight. I adore a man who looks at a woman trying to kill him and just goes 'ah my heart, she's so strong and brave.' A remarkable read. I think I would love anything Talia Hibbert writes, but this was the first paranormal romance I've read by her so I was a touch nervous, no reason to be, I adore this book. This is much less graphically erotic than other books Talia has written but no less dramatic and romantic.

With a look somewhere between bafflement and wonder, he wrote down his address.

She wondered how he'd look when she stabbed him in the throat. (21)

I wish this was full length, but as far as novellas go this covers the gambit of emotions. It only works because of the whole fated-mates aspect to the story, but this is also one of the stronger fated mates books I've read. The whole 14 Adofo children thing really set this up to be the start of a series so I'm genuinely disappointed there isn't more to this series yet, I hope that is remedied soon.
