I quite enjoyed this comic and look forward to giving it a second read. It is a fantasy story with some nontraditional twists and a strong female protagonist, and the art work is beautiful.

I picked up this graphic novel because it was written and created by Amandla Stenberg, who is someone I enjoy she is a great person and stands firm in what she believes in. So when I heard she had her own graphic novel out I couldnt wait to read it and dive into the story. Without me giving too much away this story is about a girl named Niobe and she seems to be running from her past, from people. I enjoyed the writing style, its very poetic in my opinion and it just flows together. I enjoyed the artwork, which was beautiful and it stood out on its own.

I love the fact that Niobe is a girl of color that is another reason why I wanted to pick this story up. Mainly because there are not too many girl of color protagonists espeacially not in a fantasy graphic novel. After reading the story so reviews say they couldnt understand the storyline or that it was too vague. I on the other hand understood the story and I'm looking to read part 2 of the story soon.

I think Amandla did a great job on this graphic novel and went into a direction that she saw fit in the literary world. So above all I rate this a 4 stars because of the artwork and writing style of the story.

This was pretty good. You are somewhat thrown into the middle of the story, but the artwork is stunning and story great.
