Love the idea of the website interaction and videos to watch, but not my favorite book to read out of of those I've read that are geared towards my kids ages.

This book is so fun! I first read it when I was in middle school and wanted to relive it. Thankfully, it lived up to what I remember. The pacing feels a bit odd and the acting in the videos is horrible, but it’s still all just so much fun! The videos, though horribly acted,  give a few good jump scares. The whole premise of reading a “journal” and watching accompanying videos is different and kids , especially kids that are fans of spooky things, would eat this concept up. The cliffhanger was good and leaves you wanting more. Great book for kids, but even adults would find this book entertaining.

I was very surprised by the format of this book. It was very interesting going between listening to the audiobook and watching the videos. It's admirable how much work has been put in that book. It was nice and interesting enough but I'm not sure if I will continue with the series.

This is an interesting concept. You can enjoy and understand the story fine without the videos (I didn't have internet access while reading), but the story does end in the final video, so without it, you're missing the end of the story.

Good for: Preteens (particularly preteen boys) who are looking for a good scary story.

Many of the thrills in this story come from the multimedia experience. Readers are invited to go to Sarahfincher.com and watch the movies Sarah sends to Ryan as part of their investigation. These videos are eerie, and the book gets bonus points (in the form of an extra star) for the last video which ends this first book in the series on an intense cliffhanger (like the cliffhanger of the text wasn't enough...).

I would read the rest in the series...if I ever have time...

A good, day or two read book, interesting in the way it uses videos as well.
Really annoying ending, because I was expecting a stand alone book and it ends on a cliff hanger, which gives you no choice but to read the other books
Good story, Sarah's a little annoying but the plot is griping and ever evolving - now I need to find the second book...
