The concept of this comic book is great. I found the delivery a little dense and the ending occurs where I expect volume 2 would pick up, so as it stands, the book feels a little unfinished. This story is jam packed with imagination and the artistic style is really cool.

When I saw the cover to this series I knew I was going to have to give it a try. It’s just so bright and well…different from everything else out there. Plus we all know I’m a total sucker for good covers. Sorry, but it’s the truth.
It took me a few pages to really get into the series. It starts off with a lot of monologue…but all things considered that makes sense. They had a massive world to establish, as well as the character’s backstory and all the tech in the world. That’s not an easy task, so I’m will to let that bit slide.
Once I settled into the plot I have to admit I was really curious about everything. I want to see more of the tech (and how it’s abused, as weird as that sounds), the people, the politics, everything. And then of course there’s the way this issue ended…it’s safe to say that I’ll be reading the next one!

This was a fun read about 1 issue in. Goddess Mode is a dystopian sci-fi set in a Chinatown nightlife-like environment—aka what white people have appropriated and repackaged to sell as a "cyberpunk aesthetic"

The exposition and dialogue are pretty clunky so far. It seems like they were trying to get alot of world building done in a small number of pages, which was definitely to its detriment. The art is great, and the setting seems promising, so hopefully it can find its voice in the next few issues.
