I like the overall story. There were some odd transition points that weren't clear, and some of the dialogue could have been improved. I kind of wish this wasn't just a stand alone.

{My thoughts} – I have honestly read through this book three times now and to me nothing has changed. It is still the same super facst paced love story, that more or less makes me feel like they are star-crossed lovers, but not entirely.

I have to admit I didn’t enjoy reading this book at all. I don’t know any of the background history of the characters. I honestly don’t get into the super hero world all that much.

I feel like much of this book didn’t make any sense at all. There was a lot of fight and make up, then repeat. There was a lot of fast paced how’d that come about, because it’s not explained in a means that would help it to make sense. Then there is the how are they in love, when from what I read, they probably shouldn’t even be friends.

It's hard for me to really pin down how I feel about this, since Aquaman and Mera are a fairly sizable gap in my DC knowledge. Since this is set as a sort of origin story of the characters, though, maybe that's perfect to give this an unbiased opinion.
Overall this is a pretty fun book. The art's pretty good. The story line, though not exactly anything fresh or overly original, worked well enough to be compelling. There are places that things break down a little-- some of the terminology used in Xebel didn't parse well-- for example, it seems weird that an undersea nation uses "douchebag" the same way Americans may-- but other than a handful of issues along those lines, and a handful of instances where people totally change their minds about big important things in a couple of lines of dialogue, this was pretty solid.

I absolutely loved the art of this graphic novel. I also enjoyed the story and the characters. I love Mera as a warrior princess and Arthur as a gentle kid who loves people and animals. It was just too short! I have so many questions that remain unanswered because there was no sequel to this. It had so much amazing world building and character development that the ending felt rushed and sudden.

It seemed really rushed and was pretty cheesy, but still cute and the art was really nice.

The pictures were beautiful and the story was pretty good. Mera is an awesome girl from the ocean and I liked seeing her backstory in this fashion. Plus how she meets Arthur (aka Aquaman) was pretty entertaining.

However, the story seemed a little choppy and some things didn't make sense. The scenes jumped around and I was confused over the fast paced ending. I don't know, maybe it's just me. But I did enjoy reading it.

I have just recently started reading graphic novels and I enjoyed this one. I am a big fan of retellings and this felt like a Little Mermaid retelling done very well. (Even though it is actually a DC comics origin story.) The illustrations helped the story along and seemed appropriate to the events happening.

This was a cute YA comic. The artist’s style is pretty cool!
