Dresden Files Series Book #7

I love the story build, world build and snark of Harry Dresden. I love how Butcher develops the other characters in the series. He shows many times how Harry is not an island, and while powerful, he still needs a little help from his friends.

The fight scenes in these books are enjoyable to read. So far in this series I do not feel like skimming through them, but actually reading what happens since there is always something different that happens. While there are some things that stay the same in the books and with characters, there is always something that shows a growth in character or power.

This is definitely a series to be read in order. Though Butcher does do enough detail in recap to be caught up if you have missed previous books, it is more enjoyable to follow the development of story and character by reading the series in order.

Another great book in the series.
I liked it a bit better than last, while there still was a lot going on it also was less cluttered … maybe a word for it.
Overall I still love these books and can’t get enough if Harry and friends, but mainly Harry.
It seemed like Harry and Thomas have figured out for the most part how to live together and that makes me happy, of course there are some challenges or it be boring for them.
Oddly we didn’t get as much of Thomas or Thomas and Harry as thought we might, which made me a bit sad but hoping for more in the future.
We saw even less of Murphy this book, we heard about her and even maybe came to some conclusions, which I’m not sure about hot to feel, but really she had no page time.
Harry spends a lot of time with Butters this book as they fight monsters and the undead in all kind of forms. While I like Butters , I was not his biggest fan but overall it served well and was also funny.
Again this was a book with a lot going on and we learn a lot new stuff. But also a lot of new stuff was happening, there are necromancers and zombies. The wild hunt of the fae, just to name a few.
We also learn a bit more about the counsel and things are happening there as well, some things even we thought would never happen.
Lots of action, lots of humor, lots of plot twists. Harry once again works his butt off to save the world and might even get assistance form an unlikely ally.
Overall, great book with lots going on, I just hope next book with all the crazy things happening we get to see some of my favorite more, Murphy , Thomas , Michael and maybe even Susan.

I thought the Halloween setting would be gimmicky but it works surprisingly well. Stakes are raised, and power shifts. Thomas increasingly becomes my favorite.
(I actually finished this yesterday, but had a lot of things going on...)
