I have a lot of thoughts on this book. It's a good book, but I found the writing to be dry and disengaging at times. I know this is a well-loved book, but I can't jump on the train. The second half was much better than the first.

Robin Wall Kimmerer is a master of storytelling. Drawing parallels between the natural world, Indigenous ways of knowing, and current events, she paints a story of sorrow and hope.

I hope I will reread this book many times in my life. This is the slowest I’ve read a book in a really long time. Kimmerer weaves story and folk lore and science together with mind bending elegance.
