Wow, this book is too short but will really leave a mark on its readers. And will give us a glimpse of the two revolutions that happened in the Philippines.

"People waved red banners instead of yellow ribbons. Perhaps it doesn't matter what the colors are. We must remember, instead, that the Filipinos are always worth fighting for. That's what my own son and daughter-in-law believed in, and died for, in the seventies. That's what my graddaughters and grandson-in-law believe now, and teach to my great-granddaughter. We must always celebrate the Filipino spirit."

Absolutely loved Ma'm Cyan's short stories, and this brief reading does not fail.

Great read for kids to learn about two revolutions in Philippine history! Short but sweet. It has descriptions of Filipino life/family that I saw growing up. Illustrations were cute too.
