This series is really building!! The artwork is stunning and emotions conveyed very well. You get a sense of what happened during the resistance and how that is connected to current day.

We witness here an other part of Canada's métis history, but (like with the two previous books) the broken narration of the events and many characters made it difficult to fully appreciate the story. But knowing Echo and leader Louis Riel (from the previous books) helped to connect with the event. It's sad to see that in some aspects Métis are stil struggling for their own rights now.

I liked the first two volumes better than the third, but I'm looking forward to the rest of Echo's story in volume four!

This is a really emotional volume for Echo, as for the first time she is trying to alter history through her timetravelling dreams and dealing with the devastation of being unable to do so. There are also some interesting developments in terms of her connection to the history of her people, the Metís. The lack of clarity around her familial relationships is still frustrating to me, and that is still distracting me from other aspects of the story that I should be focusing on, but I'll probably pick up Volume 4 when it comes out because I do want to see more of Echo and though it's upsetting, it's important to learn this history.
