I did not really get the point of this book. I think it mixed too many different groups of people that I would not really consider fans. And it was very shallow in why fandom happens and what it gives to people. Also some of the quotes from fan letters and fan fiction seemed really random.

Writing about how fandoms are a force for good is a lovely thing! I didn't love referring to furries as fans, as from my understanding it's more of a community, and I feel the author could have done more to differentiate subcultures, communities and fandoms. Enjoyable enough though.
