aweful, dreadful writing and the story.. what story, what plot? No character development whatsoever, the same words and words are used over and over again. Some inner goddess in a virgin?! and so so many WTF moment, so hyper unreal, while trying to be real. How is it this book is so popular?

Omg I hate this book

Fun Fact this was my introduction to dark romance if you can call the smut in this book "romance" I have read better fanfics and they didn't get a movie. I mean who thought that this piece of shit book would get printed, sure as hell not me. I didn't "read" the book but I listened to the audiobook and I feel bad for the narrator, also the writing style reminds me of my second grade fictional writing assignment and the story is just awful like there is no plot, Grey is the reason why I think some people should kill themself, Ana is Bella aka a big fucking mary sue. Also isn't the reason why Grey wanted Ana was because she looked like his mom (WEIRD SINCE YOU PLAN ON FUCK HER).

I'm actually going to reread this and post a full? review of this shit hole- (1/22/24)

Well.
That was a ride.
For some odd reason, I decided to read this book, and it was...quite something. I already knew that this is Twilight fanfiction, so I was ready to feel some mental pain. From what I've gather, I've concluded that Christian Grey is creepier than Edward Cullen, and Edward freaking watched Bella while she slept. Christian Grey repeatedly stalks Anastasia and ignores her disapproval of this stalking. He also flexes all the time!1!1! On the contrary, I prefer Anastasia over Twilight-the-book Bella. Anastasia has somewhat (though not much) more of a personality than Bella in Twilight-the-book. She actually talks back to Christian Grey when he's being terrible (spoiler: it's the majority of the time), saving this book from one stardom. Just as I did with Twilight, I'll continue my trek through this series for the sake of you all never having to read these. You're welcome.

Is it unfair to rate a book before finishing it? I read as much as I could. Just awful. I couldn't even make it to any sexy parts (which seems the ONLY reason anyone would read it), it was just that awful.

I actually enjoyed it far better than I thought I would. The writing was ok but the plot was really electric. I would recommend it with the end in mind that you enjoy it as a guilty pleasure book and nothing more!
