Sooo good! I can't wait to read the other books in the series! And I really want to watch the movie. I learned so much about Asian culture, as well as "rich" culture. I can't even begin to imagine being that obscenely rich! I would not know what to do with all that money!! Winning the lottery would be more than enough for me - I don't need or want billions...just enough to be comfortable. That's all I would want.

Anyway, TLDR: great book, highly recommend!!

In some ways better than the movie, but not as groundbreaking.

Pretty good, entertaining, mostly easy to get through. There were so many characters that was confusing since most didn't matter but I think that's the point. We get to feel overwhelmed like the main character or whatever. I like how it had a lot of unique drama with the regular family drama. Might continue with the series but also content with not for now.

this book was great. that is all I had to say. the first 50 pages were talking about Chinese lineages and who inherits what. but, I was soon tossed into the world of lavish foods, deep drama, gossip girls, beautiful outfits, and betrayal. the characters were interesting which is good. I have read so many books where the main female protagonist is a Mary sue.
the plot is your typical fish out of water story except with rich people. I love stories about rich people just everything they do is just so interesting to me. I loved Rachel and nicks romance I thought it was sweet.
my second favorite character... Elenor don't get me wrong she is a terrible person but she is just so classy while she does it.
my favorite character... Astrid I felt really bad for her I mean come on Michael how could you cheat on her. (as I am writing this out it kind of sounds like a soap opera, and I love it!) but I want to be Astrid when I grow up.
the story was a bit strange but it kept me entertained. it's probably one of my favorite books I have ever read. a serious beach read!

Not my usual genre, but this was really a page turner! I devoured it, and lost sleep along the way. Can't wait for the movie...

I read this after I watched the movie, and I was pleasantly surprised that I loved this. It was such a good book with lots of details that weren’t in the film. Enjoyed this read!
