My first Lucy & Andy Neanderthal book! This was cute; it's episodic, so if, like me, you're not super into stories that are more about the events of individual chapters than an overall arc, you might feel that this drags? I don't think it actually drags, it just has a structure that isn't my personal jam. Lots of middle grade books are like this though; they're not meant to be read in one big clump! Anyway, Brown does a good job of balancing the science lessons with the stories, so you're not overwhelmed but you still get to learn all the facts behind each chapter. He also balances all the characters quite well which is impressive because holy geeze there are a LOT of characters! All the kids are cute and unique though, and you can tell Brown has fun with the character designs.
