Very much about the vibes/aesthetics. Had a lot to say about processing grief and losing someone who isn't gone yet. I liked it overall I just was expecting more of a gut punch by the halfway point

Some books work supremely well as audiobooks, especially when it has two POVs and is narrated by two people. They both have distinct enough voices and ways of talking too, which I appreciate as someone whose native language isn't English. The atmosphere stays creepy and unsettling through the entire book, all the way to its strange ending.

I’m still not quite sure what I just read but oh, Julia sure has an amazing writing style. How you can remain so lyrical about under water and submarine things for an entire book whilst subtly weaving through a love story and a tinge of horror and suspense: chef’s kiss. As usual, I could have done with just a tad more clarity in the plot but that’s a me thing.

This is a near perfect read for me, and I'm simultaneously unsettled yet transfixed by what I just read. Our Wives Under The Sea is beautiful and horrifying in a strange sort of way. One of the weirdest books I've ever read, but one that will stick with me for a while (and one that has imbued me with a newfound fear of deep water.)
Moderate: Body horror

Beautifully written, insane suspense building, unimaginable investment in the characters, but also wtf was that

slow paced and beautifully written. I too would come back wrong from the deep ocean.
