I so enjoyed the detailed accounts of how individual USO clubs functioned & the touching, inspiring tales of the folks who ran the clubs & the servicemen whose lives they impacted. The USO workers & volunteers plus the people in the local communities gave much to make each building that hung out USO sign a home away from home for the boys! (This book was tough to get hold of. My library didn't carry it & I didn't want to pay what Amazon was asking for the few old copies that exist. I finally found it free on Google books. Yay :)
