I only started this book because I really wanted to read the Clockwork Angel: The Infernal Devices, so I looked up how to read the series in order and this was the first book suggested.
I tried to read this book when I was in high school, but I don't remember what I thought about the book. I never finished the series though or even book two, so at least I most likely didn’t like it. I wonder what I’ll think about it now. I hope it’s not terrible, but if I hate it I’ll skip to Clockwork Angel and try it then.
“You're not gay, are you?” … “If I were, I would dress better.” (39) Hey-o, good god, I forgot when this came out and how we used to casually talk about the queer community. I am not a fan of that type of language.

I know that these two will need to build up their ‘romance’, but right now there is no chemistry. “I’m not like other guys.” ch.7 Dude literally said I’m not like other guys. Good Clary is so fucking dumb, she just jumped through a portal that she had no clue where it would go. By the way, I am jealous of Luke, he lives behind a bookstore.

One reason, one word to read this? Jace. If you need two? Jace Herondale. If you need three? Jace Herondale Shadowhunter. If you need FIVE? Jace Herondale Shadowhunter is HOT. As in fictional hot and devilishly attractive. Need more reasons? Read the first chapter. I double dog dare you.
You won't be disappointed.
