Angel and Faith are back! This series is a lot of fun, picking up from the end of Buffy season 8 and the world-changing events that wrapped up that story arc. In volume 2, Daddy Issues, Angel and Faith continue trying to sort out their new world, keep evil at bay, and perhaps resolve some issues from their pasts along the way. A few very welcome familiar faces from the Buffy-verse pop up, and the story moves in some new and unexpected directions. My only complaint? Having to wait months for the next installment!

This is kind of my new favorite series. Faith and Angel make such a great team and the writers know it.

I LOVE Sane Drusilla! I LOVE Giles Horcruxes! I love Giles' magical bitchy shallow aunts! Giles' tragic initiation in the cemetery was heartbreaking.

I can't wait to read more of these two.

I've read most of the previous volumes so I wasn't completely lost while reading this. I really liked this volume, I think the story was interesting (and emotional) and I like the art most of the time. The only one who looks weird to me is Angel but maybe it's just hard to draw him? I don't know. But I love Faith, I always have and I always will.

This was definitely a fun read, and it's interesting to see how Angel's and Faith's friendship evolves over time. Initially, Faith came on board to help Angel, but he ends up helping her as well. There are times when I'd like to see Faith stand her ground more with Angel, but nonetheless, she proves to be a steady and level-headed force in his life. I love how Faith realizes that even though she has unresolved issues with her father, she now has a choice in how she writes her own life story.
Spoiler alert: I loved seeing another side of Dru in this volume, and Willow, one of my very favorite Buffyverse characters, makes an appearance at the end! I therefore look forward to see how Willow's appearance will play a part in the narrative.

Dru is back, awesome! Faith falls apart in that old Faith-like way and yes I did oddly enjoy that. Angel keeps fighting his demons and helps others fight theirs, cool. Flashback Giles is heading for his rowdier years, o I'm so excited! However, I'm also very worried. Bringing Giles back from the grave seems very stupid, as we have learned many times in the TV series (as they mention often in this book), so I'm not sure where they are going with this.... But this book was really good I wholly recommend to fans of the character Angel and Faith, they were written very true to character here.

(Re-read)

I'm finding the pacing of these four issue arcs (with one bonus one-off per collection) to be a bit off. They wrap up just a little too quickly and make me wish that thee full five issues were used for the arc. In this one, in particular, Faith's "big decision" just seemed to happen way to quickly without any proper seeding. After everything she's been through, it just didn't seem like her (hell, Angel basically says as much). And then she kind of does a similar thing by suddenly changing her mind about Angel's intention to resurrect Giles. I like the story, but the character work just feels a bit rushed. Drusilla, though: top notch, as always.

The Drusilla storyline dragged a bit, but enjoyed getting more backstory on Giles.
